Iron Man 2 Sketch Cards

My Iron Man 2 cards were approved. I can’t remember when this set comes out. Pretty soon I would think.

One of the things I learned on this set is that the old, bulky costume was more fun to do. It was easy to reflect the background into the armor giving it a little more life.

Snow day sketch

Life here has pretty much come to a standstill thanks to a decent snowfall this weekend. I celebrated by sleeping in (which mean 8am) making breakfast, working on a script outline, and then taking a walk while being pelted with wind and sleet. After 2 weeks of constant work, it was a welcome and needed break from the drawing board. I did manage to sketch a little this evening though.

I know, very uninteresting. Make up a story to go along with it if you want. I imagine that he’s the perfect man for a cigarette ad. Unfortunately, he was born to late and is instead the spokesman for a generic brand of disinfectant wipes.

Deadlines = Achieved!

For the last 2 weeks I have been working 10-12 hour days trying to meet deadlines. I finished today and left the studio to head home just as the snow started falling.

Next week I hope to start making a dent in my commission list, among other things. I also should start having more art to post. I haven’t been able to show any of the work I’ve been doing lately, even though I think I’ve been drawing more lately than ever.

This weekend I hope to doodle a little more in my sketchbook.

cards and runs

I’m looking forward to being able to post some of these Marvel 70th Anniversary cards. I’m not allowed until the sets come out.

I’ve been taking the time to use more reference on the last half of them, working out some anatomy/color/rendering issues. Slower going, but a better final image. I’m trying to balance these two card sets with training for a marathon. I have a month and a half left until the race, and the time commitment is getting bigger. The long runs I don’t mind. It’s the smaller mid week runs that take some juggling.

Thor! (now with 86% more Chesterton)

Blasphemy depends upon belief and is fading with it. If any one doubts this, let him sit down seriously and try to think blasphemous thoughts about Thor. I think his family will find him at the end of the day in a state of some exhaustion.” -G.K. Chesterton, Heretics
