video sketch of old man

I’m working hard finishing up the inking and coloring on a comic that’s due by next Wednesday.  Today’s post is from a video sketch I did a while back.  Enjoy.

Illyria commission

This is a commission for a friend of mine.  I did it at an awkward size for my scanner, hence the photo of it.  Hopefully I’ll get a good scan before too long.

Warm up sketch – girl with scroll

Another warm up sketch.   In the past I’ve typically been sketching with harder leads (around a 4H) but have been getting into using softer ones.  I’m finding my mind works a little differently with the lines that come from a 2B lead.  I’m doing fairly tight pencils with a 2B lead on the comic I’m working on now.   I’m pretty pleased with the results.

Marvel Masterpieces proof cards

Here’s a few of the artist proof cards I did for the Marvel Masterpieces set. (I think this was set 3.)  I don’t know why I made all the backgrounds blue.

Phoenix color sketch card

I don’t know how many times I’ve drawn Phoenix, but it seems to be a lot. All the cards posted this week have been from my March round of sketch card commissions.   I did around 13 this time and will probably have time for another round in May.

The Baroness

The Baroness from G.I. Joe.  This commission was a sketch card, 2.5 X 3.5 inches.  I’ve gotten adept at drawing small.

Howdy, Pilgrim

A commission of a pilgrim….and a cat.  I think he’s carrying a shotgun under that cape.  But you didn’t hear it from me.
